Social issues matter
During the presidential campaign a statement I would hear time and time again, especially from Republicans, was that the economy is what's most important, things like social and moral issues took a back seat as if they were of little to no importance. However I see a direct correlation between our current moral decline and the problems we face today. It has taken me time to put my thoughts into words and it's still a work in progress but it goes something like this:When the majority of a nation is comprised of moral and virtuous people there is less corruption and less irresponsible spending that leads to economic turmoil to begin with. An immoral people spend money immorally, a moral people spend money morally. There is certainly less crime and violence when the people are moral.
